On 13 August 2005 our silver maple, the largest tree in the neighborhood, was blown down by heavy winds in a storm. Luckily the enormous tree (85 feet tall and five feet in diameter near the base) did not hit any houses or vehicles, but it crushed our garage and damaged the neighbor's porch.
